DISTRIBUTION :  The species found distrubted in Asia and the Sub species Spindasis vulcanus vulcanus distributed in India.

STATUS: 

HABITAT It inhabits scrub land with sparse vegetation, hedge rows, scrub jungles and secondary forest.

HABITS :They are difficult to disturb when nectaring on flowers but are able to fly fast erratically. Even when disturbed they return to the same spot a moment later. Mainly, they are found near their host plants.

IDENTIFICATION  FEATURES: 

SIMILAR SPECIES : 

Look like Cigaritis schistacea (Plumbeous Silverline) which has short outer marginal orange strip  around the tail and with blue tinge on upperside of hindwing of males. the Common Silverline has a long outer marginal orange strip in males.
