Forewing with a large quadrate lower submarginal spot and two small superposed apical spots. Hindwing with yellowish-white rounded submarginal spots, the upper minute, the lower three large and dento-lunate; marginal ochreous lunules not present in the male, very indistinct in female, the lower bluish-grey streaks only present in male. The forewing has a traverse black line below apex cell and an oval spot beyond encircling a small yellow spot, a broad short oblique discal bar and an angulated postdiscal lunular band the costa narrowly and the termen shaded with black. Hindwing: a comparatively large triangular patch below the middle of the costa, a postdiscal evenly curved series of spots and a broad band along the termen black. Underside dark ochraceous red. Forewing: the base shaded with fuscous black, two spots at base of cell and a transverse line beyond crimson pink, edged with black: a very broad oblique discal band, angulated downwards

The forewing has the costa broadly black until nearly the apex. The cell has three narrow short black bands,  A postdiscal broad transverse black band from dorsum to vein 4, with the portions of the veins beyond it defined in black. Underside paler duller orange. Forewing: black markings as on the upperside, but the cell and upper discal markings obscurely margined on the inner side by white; Female similar, with similar markings, but on the upperside the ground colour is paler, the black markings narrower.   SIMILAR SPECIES    LARVAL HOST PLANTS Tragia involucrata, T. plukenetii (Euphorbiaceae).
